Blog 430: Small Squad Take Medals at Derby Open

A small Long Eaton squad gained valuable experiance today at the City of Derby B Grade Open Meet. Imogen Marshall and Ryan Cendrowski lead the way with wins in the 50m Fly and 100m Free respectively. However there were excellent performances from all the other swimmers who took part. This marks the first of a number of important end of season meets, with Long Eaton swimmers competing in the Braunstone Open tomorrow, and then in the Northampton Open, Chesterfield Open, and National Championships over the next 3 weeks.

For full results of the meet click here. Well done to everyone who took part.

Blog 427: Swine Flu

We have been advised that a pupil at Trent College has been diagnosed with Swine Flu, and has been sent home.
Trent College has been advised that it is in order to stay open and to keep their facilities in use.
We are following this advice and keeping our sessions at Trent College open too.
However, the decision to attend or withdraw is obviously down to each individual once the situation has been explained.

to answer the question being asked - we have been told that both "infected" students are 6th formers who have been away from Trent for some time revising for their A levels and it is "most unlikely" that they have used the pool.Apparently they attended a party a week ago where it is suspected that they picked up the bug.
