The B team travelled
to Tamworth to start this year’s campaign in the Arena league and came away
with a very impressive result, finishing second behind a strong Etwall Eagles A
team.
Praise must be given to all the swimmers for the way they
represented the club both with their swimming and the way they conducted
themselves on the coach journeys. The support the swimmers gave each other during
the gala and the spirit shown throughout the evening really helped to make this a memorable night.
From a coaches perspective the outstanding feature
was the massive improvement we saw with regard to the turns, particularly
the distance the swimmers were getting off the wall out of the turns. This is
something all the coaches have been working on in training and to see it put
into action in racing situations is very rewarding. The impact it made on the
outcome of the races is a feature that
can’t be overstated.
Thanks to all the parents for your support and positive
comments. Both Kaye and myself came away from the gala really encouraged by
what we had witnessed and proud to be associated with Long Eaton Swimming Club.
