Blog 3106: Chesterfield round up

Long Eaton headed to Matlock for Chesterfield's Winter Open Championships. This was the end of cycle meet for the club, and swimmers produced a number of PB's across the range of events. The biggest test at this meet was being able to step up and swim finals after a number of heat swims. To be a successful swimmer, you need to ensure that you develop that part of your character, where you can step up and swim better than your heat. That is where Champions are made.
Going into the New Year and a new cycle, let's ensure that we have a higher number of entrants for the last meet of the cycle, as a significant portion of the training we do is geared towards that last Open Meet. For a lot of us, we put in twelve weeks of work with no reward at the end of it. All retch and no vomit. Rest well, have a good Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
