Blog 3387: Weekend wrap up

Long Eaton swimmers were involved in 3 competitions across the weekend.

Summer Kennedy and Harmony Torrington helped Derbyshire to the brink of promotion back to division one on Sunday at Inter Counties.

A long but worth while day at Sheffield for the Lincoln Vulcans level 1 meet saw a lot of learning and development for the swimmers taking part as well as a lot of early season personal best times.

The balance of the swimmers were at the Derventio Excell level 3 meet at Matlock, with more PBs and development taking place across the weekend. All of this was driven by the swimmers taking responsibility for their actions both in and out of the pool. Those who filled in their house cup process sheets scored very highly as over 90% of target processes were achieved, even when I made them harder for the swimmer. This just shows how much swimmers who want to, can push themselves and develop given the right prompting and guidance. With correct processes came great outcomes, PB's at this early stage of the season are hard to find however they were coming from all over and those swims that were not a full PB were either within a couple of seconds or on the PB which is incredible. The swimmers over the weekend showed a great level of professionalism and represent the club with pride. If we keep this up and the level of work in training up we will have an amazing season.
