As I start my break now in terms of both being off poolside and off line the last thing to do this season before I set my out of office reply, is a quick review.
Over the course of this season we have focused on a process based approached. This means instead of focusing on the outcome (time) we have focused on how to get that time, we have not just talked about the process but in a lot of case written them down and reviewed them each gala, from Fly Kicks to Streamlining to tactics all the little details add up to the final outcome. Using this practice we have held a 75% PB ratio across the club at all galas, which is incredible given that swimmers were moving their pbs from one gala to the next. So continue to focus on the process, fill in your process sheets each gala and push the skills.
One of the biggest signs that the club is moving forward was the number of swimmers who entered club champs. Lets continue to keep this up and enter the open meets. The bigger the team we have at Open meets the better we will perform.
As you may of gathered by the pb ratio it has been an amazing season for Long Eaton in the pool, our Arena Teams performed amazingly, the Leicester League team gained promotion and our Diddy team despite finishing 18th proved they were improving by the closeness of the result against the "top" clubs making massive gains on all around. Whilst a couple of our elder national qualifiers moved on we still maintain our presence at Regionals and had more finalists and qualifiers across more events than ever before and managed to maintain our presence at Nationals and Summer Champs with new swimmers coming through to qualify and a further 7 swimmers within .7 of a second away from qualifying from the home programme, whilst our swimmers from the performance squads of DX and Loughborough continued to impress.
A massive well done to all the swimmers at home or within the performance pathway.
