Blog 3513: Golf Score
This morning Midland and National squads started their golf scoring test set. This will be done 4 times over the next 9 to 12 weeks on a Saturday morning with the idea of getting the swimmers to focus on technical improvements, stroke efficiency over the pre season training period. Golf scoring is the swimmers stroke count added to their time i.e if a swimmer swims a 50m free in 34 seconds doing 44 strokes then their golf score is 78. If a swimmer can improve their skills and technique they will be able to swim faster using less strokes and therefore swim faster for longer, saving energy because of better technique. I have attached the results on the link below, at the bottom of the results is 4 examples of what swimmers should be aiming for with their golf scoring given their sex and physical age. these should be used as a guideline only as no actual study on this has taken place.https://drive.google.com/file/d/1p_J6qAz9GSIBMylJ6QTiuDpdNpev0ZAe/view?usp=sharing
