Blog 2019 - 182: Arena League - please save the dates

Our coaching team will soon be selecting swimmers to represent the club in the National Arena League competition.

The Arena League consists of 3 rounds and is always on the 2nd Saturday of October, November and December.
LESC enter 2 teams into this league as it is the National competition and the most important League Gala.

This year the dates are:
Saturday 12th October
Saturday 9th November
Saturday 14th December
Each round takes place on the Saturday evening with warm ups typically starting around 6pm, and the gala running until 8.30/9pm.
All age groups are represented with 11u, 13u, 15u and Open events.

Our 'A team' compete in the Premier Division of this competition - this is a fantastic achievement for a club of our size and one which we should all be proud of.
To maintain this position we need to send out our strongest team in every round.
Unfortunately last year we did find ourselves in a relegation battle as we had some key swimmers missing for some rounds.
We don't have as many swimmers to choose from as the larger clubs we compete against at this level, so for LESC, every swimmer counts towards keeping our place at the top.

Although the 'B Team' do not compete in the Premier Division, they are no less important and I personally am very proud that we are able to give even more of our swimmers the opportunity to be chosen to represent their club in the National League.

These galas, although often very tough competition, are great fun and fantastic team events.

On behalf of the committee and coaching team I would like to make a request that every swimmer, where possible, keeps the above dates free to ensure we can send our best teams.

Many thanks,
