The Masters’ squad have just had their most successful trip
ever to the British Masters Championships, held at Ponds Forge this weekend.
The highlight was a NEW WORLD RECORD for the ladies 160+
years 4 x 100 medley relay team of Maggi Tuck, Helen Gorman, Becky Fox and
Helen Akers, who smashed 11 seconds off the previous record. There was also a
NEW EUROPEAN RECORD for the mixed 160+ years 4 x 200 free team of Helen A, Pete
Irving, Liz Simpson and Colin Prescott and a NEW BRITISH RECORD for the ladies
120+ 4 x 100 free team of Laura Marinelli, Liz, Helen A and Becky. Helen Gorman
also broke ker own BRITISH RECORD for 40-44 years 100m Breaststroke
Overall the team came away with 25 medals, of which 7 were
individual golds and 8 were team golds.
