Blog 1780: Belper Marlins Round Up

The club took a strong squad of swimmers to compete in the Belper Marlins “Ghoul in the Pool” Open gala held at Queens St on Saturday 26th October. Once again the swimmers produced a number of encouraging performances, with many gaining trophies or medals for finishing in the top six. In addition, numerous competitors gained personal best times, with all swimmers showing determination and a competitive edge, especially when racing against fellow Long Eaton swimmers.
A measure of how successful the day had been was the announcement that Long Eaton had won the “Top Club of the Meet” trophy. Also featuring in the end of gala presentation awards were Mimi Roberts, whose outstanding racing earned her the “Top Female” trophy; and Alex King who received his impressive trophy for top male in the S14 classification.
Finally Bob and Kaye would like to thank the team managers and officials for all their hard work, and thank parents for their support.

Bob.

On a slightly sour note we would remind swimmers that the club is trying to ensure a professional image at all times and writing on each other is contary to this image particularly at open meets. face paint at team galas is acceptable within reason but messages that have nothing to do with team support are not.
