Blog2019-97: New start time for Monday Am training
We are going to trial a new start time and idea for Monday AM training from April 29th.
We will start the session at 5:30 with a run/walk around West Park. It is approximately 2 miles around the park so one lap for walkers and two laps for runners. We would like as many parents joining in as possible to act as chaperones around the route so that everyone is safe and in groups with an adult. This will be a great opportunity to get a run in or walk the dogs and once again get swimmers and parents from different squads together. The additional training will also help the swimmers and will hopefully encourage attendance as the session will be longer and upto an hour and a half even if you get out at 7.
If you are able to help and are a runner (I have the walkers covered) please let me know.

Blog2019-96 in House
A great fun night last night at the in house gala. Some really fast swimming as well, with some unofficial pbs done without race suits or anti waves lanes. Admittedly it did take a while to get going as we had to adjust the teams because people had not let us know they were not attending, but after that, the event was fast, furious and fun.
It was great to see the swimmers all coming together and supporting each other and we will be doing it again in the future.
If you have any feedback please let me know. Would you prefer a sign up sheet in the future instead of letting us know you won’t be able to make it?

Blog 2019-93: Saturday 13th April am training
As we are currently in Test Week for the junior squads, there will be some slight tweaks to Saturday's morning training. Times remain as usual, except we will be running a warm up during the swim session until approximately 7.50, which will be followed by a 200IM/200 free time trial. This is mainly for the County and Midland squads; however, National are welcome to attend should they wish too. Gym sessions continue as usual, except County will be moving over to the pool at 7.45 to perform their tests.

Blog2019-90: In House Gala
Wednesday 17th April sees our first in house gala. This is a fun gala to get the club together and hopefully will continue in the future.
At the moment we are trying the format out just using County, Midland, National and Senior squad swimmers and the gala will replace any training for those squads on the night. We hope to expand this to all squads in the future providing this trial run goes well.
The Gala will take place 8.00 - 9.30pm (National squad's normal training time) - please note no race suits are to be worn for this event.
If you are definitely unable to attend please let me know asap so I can make adjustments to the teams where possible to try and keep them balanced. Event selections will be done by the lead coaches on the night.

Blog 2019-86: Open Meet withdrawals
If swimmers decide not to compete at an open meet they have entered, then it is their (or their parents') responsibility to notify the meet organisers that they will not be swimming.
Withdrawal procedures are always laid out in the meet info, with either a phone number or email that can be used to let the host club know. This helps avoid empty lanes at Meets and means Competitor Stewards and Team Managers are not trying to locate a swimmer that has decided not to swim.

Blog 2019-85 - Collecting and dropping off
Can I please remind all parents to ensure they are collecting their swimmers promptly after training sessions - it has been brought to my attention that there have been a few occasions recently where swimmers have been left waiting with the coach for a long time after the session has ended.
In addition, can I again remind parents not to leave swimmers at a training session until they have checked a coach is present.
Many thanks for your co-operation,
